One dead in police-involved shooting Monday morning, Mississippi officials report – Magnolia State Live

Agents with the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI) are investigating a fatal police officer-involved shooting that occurred on Monday, September 16, in northern Mississippi.

According to Bailey Martin, spokesman for the Mississippi Department of Public Safety, the incident occurred when the Olive Branch SWAT team attempted to execute a no-knock warrant at a residence on Railroad Avenue. During the operation, the suspect allegedly pointed a gun at the officers, who fired.

The suspect sustained fatal injuries, while no serious physical injuries were reported to the officers involved. MBI agents are conducting a comprehensive investigation and will submit their findings to the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office for review.
