You wake up on Tuesday and read everything you can about the players you should claim off waivers as you prepare for Week 3 of fantasy football in 2024.

But there probably aren’t that many articles about who you should cut from the roster to get those players. This weekly column – Keep or Throw! – will hopefully answer that question for you: It will help you debate who you should keep or cut from the roster to improve your team.

There are a lot of injuries in the league and there is a lot of talent waiting in the wings. Let’s dive in:

1

WR Allen Lazard, New York Jets

The Jets’ offense is chaotic and Mike Williams played a lot more in Week 2. Although he was a good addition after Week 1, he can be let go.

VERDICT: Drop him

2

TE Colby Parkinson, Los Angeles Rams

You’ll want to hold onto him with Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua out. Tyler Higbee may come back at some point, but for now, you’ll want to hold onto him since he plays a thinner tight end position.

VERDICT: Keep it

3

RB Alexander Mattison, Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders may play from behind more often than they did in Week 2, and they’ll overrun the helpless Panthers in Week 3. And he scored a touchdown, too!

VERDICT: Keep it

4

WR Adonai Mitchell, Indianapolis Colts

Maybe he will play an influential role one day, but with Josh Downs returning soon and Anthony Richardson focusing on Michael Pittman and Alec Pierce, he may be dropped.

VERDICT: Drop him

5

WR Joshua Palmer, Los Angeles Chargers

So much for the hype about the surprise candidate. The Chargers run a lot and Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston are ahead of him.

VERDICT: Drop him

6

RB Zamir White, Las Vegas Raiders

Just hang in there. He’ll still have a role, maybe not the one you expected, but it won’t be so bad.

VERDICT: Keep it

7

WR Christian Kirk, Jacksonville Jaguars

Yikes. Just two catches on seven targets through the first two weeks. Despite a more crowded receiver room and those struggles, you have to hold on to him to see if this is just a slow start. It’s a tough call, but…

VERDICT: Keep it

8

QB Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers

As I mentioned, the Chargers run a lot. Herbert has only rushed for 274 yards so far.
