Laver Cup 2024: Teams, captains, matches, schedule and results

The long-awaited tennis competition Laver Cup is about to enter its seventh editionwhich takes place in Berlin this September. Team Europe and Team World will fight for the championship title.

Following a format reminiscent of the famous Ryder Cup, the event will feature six of the best tennis players from Europe under the leadership of Björn Borgagainst an equally impressive team of six players who represented the rest of the world, led by the legendary John McEnroe.

Team Europe

Unfortunately for the spectators and the organizers, Rafael Nadal has withdrawn from the Team Europe lineup, but there are still plenty of stars in it.

As a reminder of how the points system works: Every game win on Day 1 is worth one point; On Day 2, it’s worth two points; and further Day 3, it’s worth three pointsThe first team to reach 13 points wins the game.

The event will consist of five sessions over three days, including three-day sessions and two-day sessions. The lineups for each day will be announced the day before.

To Friday, September 20There will be a day session starting at 6 a.m. ET with two singles matches, followed by a night session from 12:00 p.m. ET with a singles game and a doubles game.

To Saturday, September 21The day session begins at 6 a.m. ET with two singles matches, followed by a night session in the 12:00 p.m. ET with a singles game and a doubles game.

Finally Sunday, September 22the day session begins at 5 a.m. ET with a double game If necessary, up to three individual matches will then be played. If only one match is required to determine the winner, an exhibition match will be held after the award ceremony.
