Tarus accused Morara of taking her ideas and using them for his own purposes, which led to an online dispute.

Why is Mercy Tarus angry at Morara Kebaso?

While Morara travels the country to raise awareness of stalled development projects – many of which were inaugurated by President William Ruto – Tarus focuses on civic education through her Kenya Ni Home initiative.

The rift between the two arose when Morara apparently started using the slogan “Kenya Ni Home” in his social media posts, after which Tarus accused him of intellectual theft.

What did Morara Kebaso tell Mercy Tarus in the text?

In response, Tarus leaked private conversations in which Morara acknowledged the problem and told her that he had deleted the posts containing the slogan that had sparked her anger.

In a fiery caption to the leaked chats, Tarus urged Morara to come up with his own ideas and refrain from adopting hers.

“If you are man enough, why don’t you think of something yourself? You come to a lot of people and ask them for help and then you run and post. Njia ya mkora ni fupi. Kenya Ni – home and homeland must be respected,” she wrote, fuelling the public controversy.
