RTL+ reports record numbers for Stefan Raab’s “You won’t win the million here”

RTL+ reports record numbers for Stefan Raab’s “You won’t win the million here”

RTL does not provide any specific figures, but the growth in subscriptions in particular is something that the company had hoped for from “Du gewinnst hier nicht die Million” (You won’t win the million here). Stefan Raab’s new show is finally running exclusively on RTL+, and to watch the show, you need at least a basic subscription for around 7 euros per month. As RTL now announces, the new show has “generated the strongest growth in subscriptions of an original format” on RTL+.

Particularly pleasing is “the proportion of those who came into contact with RTL+ for the very first time. 73% of the subscriptions were sold to new customers, the rest were returnees who came back to RTL+ for Stefan Raab,” says the company. RTL Germany CCO Inga Leschek is accordingly pleased: “This is exactly what I expected: Stefan Raab is back and is breaking all records on Germany’s largest national streaming platform RTL+.”

“You won’t win the million here” is the first result of the exclusive collaboration between RTL and Raab, which is planned to last at least five years. The weekly show goes online with a new edition every Wednesday at 8:10 p.m., “coincidentally” five minutes before the start of the broadcast of Stefan Raab’s former show “TV total” on ProSieben, which is now presented by Sebastian Pufpaff.

How sustainable the publicized success of Stefan Raab’s comeback will be remains to be seen. And: Unfortunately, there will be no exact viewer numbers for “Du gewinnst hier nicht die Million” like there are on linear television, streaming programs are not measured as precisely by the AGF as those of linear television, and exclusive streaming programs without TV broadcasts are even less measured. So the public is dependent on what RTL puts out.
