Trump vs. Harris: US data scientist who correctly predicted 2020 outcome claims 2024 election will be a landslide victory for …

As the United States prepares for the November 5 election, a Northwestern University data scientist has made a surprising prediction about the battle between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris. Thomas Miller, who correctly predicted the outcome of the 2020 election, predicted a landslide victory for Democratic candidate Harris.

“It went from a drastic landslide in favor of Trump to a drastic landslide in favor of Harris,” data scientist Miller told Fortune magazine.

Miller predicted the exact outcome of the 2020 presidential election using betting markets instead of traditional polls.

He did this by developing a model that converted betting odds into predictions for the popular vote and the Electoral College. The model, based on 16 presidential elections, shows a weak relationship between the popular vote and betting odds.

According to Miller’s forecast, Harris would have received 55 percent of the vote in September, giving him a considerable lead in the Electoral College.

His analysis also found that Harris’ popularity has increased in recent months, even though Trump had a lead over Joe Biden in June.

However, the odds have changed considerably since Biden withdrew from the race for the White House.

Trump vs. Harris: Is the Democratic candidate ahead in the swing states?

Previously, American singer Taylor Swift declared her support for Harris last week following the US Vice President’s first presidential debate with Trump.

Miller’s forecast also matched the latest Quinnipiac University poll, which suggested Harris was leading in key swing states.

According to the poll, Harris is six percentage points ahead in Pennsylvania, 51 percent to 45 percent. This state is likely to be decisive in the upcoming elections in November.

Meanwhile, a poll conducted in Michigan shows Trump trailing Harris by five percentage points, with 50 percent of respondents supporting the Democratic challenger and 45 percent supporting the Republican presidential candidate.

According to the poll, Harris is narrowly ahead of Trump in Wisconsin with 48 percent of voter support, compared to 47 percent in Wisconsin.
