Next operation! Sebastian Ofner has to undergo another operation on his foot

Just last week, Austria’s tennis ace Sebastian Ofner had to undergo an operation on his left foot due to severe heel problems.

The good news: According to manager Moritz Thiem, the operation went well. “The doctor (note: Dr. Rettl) is very happy with the result. He is currently still wearing a special shoe, but the stitches have healed very well.”

But that’s not all. Ofner has similar heel problems on his right foot. “It was never that bad, but the problem still exists and the pain doesn’t go away completely,” explains Thiem.

Therefore, Ofner will also undergo surgery on his other foot “after thorough discussions”. After all, the Styrian had to take some time off anyway due to the first operation.

“The doctor recommended this step because it will allow Sebastian to avoid further delays and solve both problems at once,” said Thiem. The second operation is planned in just under three weeks.

Thiem continues to say the Australian Open in January is the earliest possible comeback date. However, he wants to take enough time for a full recovery.
