According to authorities on Friday, a passenger on a bus at the Feringastraße Ost stop heard a loud bang on Wednesday at around 6:45 p.m. and noticed a cracked window shortly afterwards.

Upon closer inspection, it turned out that the bus driver who was called to the scene noticed a bullet hole, which is why he alerted the police.

The Munich Criminal Investigation Department secured evidence in cooperation with the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office. However, no bullet or lead residue was found. It is still unclear what was used to shoot at the bus.

Nobody was injured in the incident. The bus had to be taken out of service. The vehicle suffered material damage amounting to several thousand euros.

The public prosecutor’s office initially did not assume that it was an attempted homicide, which is why the police investigated for attempted dangerous bodily harm and damage to property.
